Pasco-Hernando State College (PHSC) in New Port Richey, Florida introduced a new program for students to get an Associate in Science for drones!
PHSC states “Employment projections in Unmanned Vehicles Systems Operations will increase dramatically over the next several years.”
Here’s the program description:
The Associate in Science Unmanned Vehicles Systems Operation program offers a sequence of courses that provides coherent and rigorous content aligned with challenging academic standards and relevant technical knowledge and skills needed to prepare for further education and careers in the Transportation Distribution and Logistics career cluster; provides technical skill proficiency, and includes competency-based applied learning that contributes to the academic knowledge, higher-order reasoning, and problem-solving skills, work attitudes, general employability skills, technical skills, and occupation-specific skills, and knowledge of all aspects of the Transportation Distribution and Logistics career cluster.
his is the first of its kind and we expect to see many more colleges to create UAV programs as more and more businesses adopt aerial robotics.
Would you get a degree in drones if your local college offered it?
